This 2lb 14oz roach was the biggest of a brace of fish banked by specimen all-rounder Alan Rio.
His other roach weighed 2lb 1oz and fell to a critically-balanced Sticky Baits Manilla boilie fished with a groundbait feeder rig.
It was taken his local Surrey lake, which is a venue that has also produced roach to 2lb 7oz for Alan in the past.
“Targeting big roach with boilies does make a tremendous difference to the size of fish you catch, but the drawback is the fact that you get less bites and fewer fish per session,” Alan said.
