The first round of the Angling Trust Oxford Winter League was fished by 6 teams of 8 on the river Thames at Abingdon and Culham.
After an overnight frost and with the river still low and clear, the fishing was always going to be hard for most. On the team front, Drennan Oxford had a brilliant start with 6 section winners earning them valuable points.

2nd: Dan Varney (Drennan Oxford) – 11lb 15oz. Dan drew at Abingdon opposite Wilsham road and caught roach and skimmers on the pole at 14m.
3rd: Geoff Lewendon (Drennan Oxford) – 11lb 14oz. Geoff was also at Abingdon opposite Wilsham road and caught mainly skimmer bream on the pole fishing with maggots.
