A simple leger rig with a big chunk of meat is all Ray Kent needed to tempt this huge 16lb River Lea barbel.
The Barbel Society, Records Officer, bagged the prize fish after waiting three hours without a bite on the legendary day-ticket fishery, Kings Weir. Fishing a centerpin reel and 10lb line fished straight through to a size 10 hook, London based Ray also bagged two other doubles weighing 11lb and 12lb during a fruitful afternoon session.
